Whetstones are used to keep the scythe blade keen whilst scything.
We have three types of whetstone.
1. The course whetstone is a synthetic stone, mainly used when doing blade repairs. For example when using the anvil and peening hammer.
2. Medium Bregenzer whetstone. Cut from natural stone, it s good for use in the field, when peening or for the bush blade.
3. The fine whetstone is cut from the natural stone on Mount Rosutec in Slovakia. Very nice to use. It is the one to choose to use in the field with any grass blade but the medium is also suitable.
